Bristol Balloons

Bristol Balloons have been flying from Ashton Court, home of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, since 1975. Flights from this sight will take you over the most wonderful aerial views of the historic sights of Bristol including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the SS Great Britain, and over the Harbourside. Trips go south to Bath, Glastonbury, Wells, Somerset, Wiltshire, north across to Cirencester, Cheltenham and Westonbirt Arboretum and Gloucester, and across to Tintern, Monmouth, Cardiff, Usk and the Wye Valley.

Trips are mostly arranged between April to October, morning and evening at weekends. In the summer months flights mid week and occasionally mid morning are also available when the air is still. During the winter occasional weekend flights are arranged when weather and ground conditions are suitable. The trip is dependent on daylight hours. Champagne flights for special occasions are available. The whole trip lasts between three and four hours and the actual flight lasts one hour depending on wind speed, direction and height. No two flights are ever the same. Each experience is unique whether you go at sunrise or sunset. Floating across the sky will be a delightful adventure as landing is rarely in the same place. This wonderful unhurried trip will be an experience of a lifetime.

Bookings generally should be booked two or three weeks before the desired date of flying. Children under 16 years should be accompanied and you should be able to climb into a balloon and stand unaided for an hour. You must not fly if pregnant or have any serious medical conditions. Flights are fully certified by the Civil Aviation Authority and insurance is included. Ballooning has an excellent safety record and if the weather is not suitable for flying flights can be rebooked for another day. You may arrange a flight from a special location as long as it is suitable. Group bookings or a single person flight are available and donít forget your camera.

Alternatively, Bailey Balloons, provides balloon trips over similar locations.

The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has grown to be one of the largest outdoor events in the country, attracting thousands of visitors each year for a 4 day festival of fun and flying, and it's all free.
