Days Out and Entertainment in Bristol

Bristol, like most cities, has lots to offer in entertainment. There's a wide choice of pubs, restaurants, cinemas, clubs and places to take the family on day trips. Bristol city centre is alive with places to eat and drink and provides locals and visitors with a very good selection of Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Italian and Thai restaurants, to name a few.

The city centre is busy during the week, but come Friday and Saturday evenings its buzzing with younger people, most heading for the Centre, Park Street, Whiteladies Road or Clifton Village, the latter being quieter and more relaxed.

More family orientated entertainment is catered for. The At Bristol and Millenium Square complex provides a feast of entertainment. Other attractions include the Arnolfini, the Create Centre, Castle Park and the City Farm.

If you desire open spaces visit the Downs, Ashton Court Park or Leigh Woods, all of which are delightful places to walk and soak up the scenery. Bristol Zoo is a good place to take the family even if the weather isn't very good as there are many places to shelter if it pours with rain. All of these attractions are within easy traveling distance from the city centre, jump on one of the many buses.

A fantastic way to explore the city is by small ferry boat. There are many landing stops en route, whereby you travel along Bristolís historical waterfront. Attractions such as the Watershed, the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum, the SS Great Britain, the Industrial Museum and Bristol Cathedral are easily accessible, as are the family attractions mentioned above.
